The steel trussed rooftop of the Han Show Theater was successfully assembled and erected in Wuhan, Hubei Province on July 27, signifying the completion of a decisive step in the theater’s construction.

With an investment of 2.5 billion yuan, the Han Show is a world-class stage show produced by Wanda Group’s joint venture performing arts company with the renowned US theater arts production company Franco Dragone Entertainment Group.

The theater resembles a giant Chinese red lantern and features several unique points: a performance theater commanding the largest investment in the world, the world's first elevating stage, rising and falling according to the plot, the world’s first movable auditorium, the world's only flying LED screen, a diving performance from a 26-meter platform.…all of which need a big and stable steel roof.

The roof weighs 2,300 tons, which is equivalent to the weight of eight A380 planes. It was lifted to a height of 52.9 m by a hydraulic crane, which was a record for roof lifting height. In addition, the asymmetric structure of the steel trusses, space restraint and design requirements made the roof construction especially difficult.

In spite of all the difficulties, the company managed to complete the roof construction two days ahead of schedule.

The Han Show is set to wow world audiences and the theater itself will be an international architectural wonder.

"We believe the Han Show Theater will become a landmark building on par with the Sydney Opera House or the Louvre,” said Franco Dragone, world-class theater artist and founder of the Franco Dragone Entertainment Group.
